Pet Product Films, On Schedule

A film per SKU, in one world, without an animal wrangling day.

Pet Product Films, On Schedule

This is a spec scenario, built to show how Unreal Media Group approaches this brief. It is not a client engagement, and no results are claimed. Animal shoots are the least schedulable production there is: the day runs on the subject's patience, and the shot list survives contact with it or it does not. The brief was to produce a full-range set to a fixed schedule.

What's included

  • A film per SKU across the range
  • Fixed schedule, no wrangling day
  • No behavioural or health claims
  • Lifestyle stills and pack frames
  • Vertical and square from one master

The brief we set

A short film for each product in a pet range — food, treats, accessories — in one visual language, plus lifestyle frames for the site.

The wrangling problem

A conventional day budgets for the animal not cooperating, which means either a long day or a short shot list. Removing that variable does not make the creative better on its own; it makes the shot list survivable, so the range gets covered.

Honesty about the animal

Where an animal appears, it is clearly a produced image and is not presented as documentary footage of a specific pet. Nothing implies a health or behavioural outcome.

Range coverage

Pet ranges are wide and each SKU sells to a slightly different buyer. A film per SKU is only affordable when the second film is not the cost of a second shoot.

What ships

A film per SKU, vertical and square crops, lifestyle stills and pack frames for PDP.

Frequently asked questions

Was this made for a real client?+

No. This is spec work — a brief we set ourselves to demonstrate the approach and the production model. The frames are ours. No client is named because there isn't one, and no performance figure is quoted because there is nothing to quote.

What would this cost to make?+

It depends on deliverable count, usage rights, revision rounds and turnaround. Scope is agreed in writing before anything is produced, as a defined batch of work rather than a recurring fee.
